Ozden Celikbilek
Postdoctoral Researcher
Ozden is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Materials at Imperial College London, investigating the surface/interface chemistries for efficient and durable energy conversion devices. Her current research focuses on the understanding, controlling and optimising the mechanism of oxygen reduction reactions in the complex transition metal oxides (TMO) thin films.
Her Marie-SkÅ‚odowska-Curie Fellowship constitutes of developing strain-engineered vertically aligned composite nanostructures (VAN) of TMO heterostructures using Pulsed Laser Deposition. VAN design allows for strain tuning in electrodes with thicknesses reaching micrometre length scales, thus paving the way for potential commercialisation. The performance of these heterostructures will be investigated for low-temperature solid oxide cell (LT-SOC) applications, targeting higher outputs at lower operating temperatures (300-500°C).
Ozden holds a joint M.Sc. degree from Univ. of Montpellier 2 (France) and University of Turin (Italy) with Erasmus Mundus scholarship. She obtained her PhD on the study of engineering of macro- and nano-structured high-performance solid oxide electrodes at Univ. Grenoble Alpes (France).
