Jason is a 1st PhD student at the Department of Materials started in December 2022 under the supervision of Prof Stephen Skinner. His research focuses on the degradation mechanism and durability performance of low-temperature and low-power proton-conducting SOFC for powering small appliances such as Micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors. Before joining the group, Jason obtained dual master’s degrees in MEng Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London in 2020 and MSc International Development from The University of Manchester in 2021. He is starting his research using Ceria and Yttria doped Barium Zirconate (BZCY-family) materials as the base electrolyte for his fuel cell system.
