PhD student
Yu is a PhD student funded by China Scholarship Council, he joined Prof. Stephen Skinner’s group in September 2017 after graduating with distinction in the MSc course of Department of Materials Science in Imperial College.
After 4 undergraduate year focusing on Chemical Engineering and Polymer Materials, and 1 postgraduate year studying thin film materials, now his research interest is in solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC) materials. He is currently investigating the material properties of a novel electrolyte material which has the potential to be used as a proton conductor in the proton conducting SOFC application.
Yu collaborate with other groups in Japan and in Argentina on his project. They try to probe the material properties of some ceramic materials using different methods. He joined the SOIFIT group in 2018 continuing the collaboration with Prof. Masatomo’s group from Tokyo Institute of Technology.
